Campers receive fantastic FREE GIFTS worth over $150 including: FREE Training DVDs, High quality Training Shirt & Hat, Gifts from our Sponsor - Great Harvest Bread, a special group dinner and more! (Please Note: Your Tuition does NOT cover any expenses related to your personal equipment, transportation or lodging. Spend four days training in the heat amongst the saguaros (cactus) along the majestic Catalina Mountain range and listening to guest speakers discuss the finer points of training and racing. Start getting in great shape for the new season!
The camp is intended for triathletes and cyclists who want to work on their endurance base, shed some winter pounds and to start gaining some momentum going into the new season. Perfect for athletes from colder climates, this early March training camp comes at the perfect time to kick off your pre- season training for 2009 and is the ultimate winter training vacation for endurance athletes.
A Few Things to Note: This is a training camp intended for people of all ages and athletic backgrounds. We usually get a 50/50 mix of men and women and our average age range is 35-45 with campers attending as young as 25 yrs of age and as mature as 73 years of age. Our camp is non-judgmental and supportive to athletes of all abilities. The only requirement is that you come to camp with a good attitude, prepared to work hard and a solid level of fitness relative to your own potential. In other words, you should be able to comfortably ride at least 50 miles, run an hour and swim 2000 yards without incredible difficulty. Treat the preparation for this camp as if you were getting ready for an important race and you'll be 'good to go'!
Also, please note that the focus of this camp is on training and not instruction. While you'll learn a ton of useful and cutting-edge information on training and racing strategies both in the classroom lectures and 'on the road' from our expert coaches (And other campers!), the main focus of this particular program is on training...and resting. If you'd like to receive personal instruction during camp from one of our coaches, please notify us in advance and if and when time allows, we'll be happy to assist you. (Additional Fees may apply to personal coaching services. Please inquire in advance by emailing info@coachtroy.com).
Coach Troy has been holding camps around the U.S. since 1995. 2009 will be our 7th consecutive season conducting this fantastic winter training camp in Arizona. Come join us for a most satisfying and effective training camp experience.
The purpose of this training camp is to: - motivate you for the upcoming season and start building momentum
- start laying down a base of aerobic endurance
- begin shedding unwanted bodyfat gained over the winter
- teach you how to develop your training plan for the upcoming season
- show you a few 'tricks' to have the best race season ever!
- Have fun and make some new friendships that will last a lifetime!
This camp is open to cyclists and triathletes of all levels. Just come to camp with a solid fitness base and the desire to work hard and have fun. Triathletes will focus on doing all three sports with the emphasis on cycling. Cyclists will do a bit more cycling than the triathletes and are certainly invited to join the triathletes for runs and swims!

LECTURES AND SOCIAL EVENTS
Every evening there will be a lecturer discussing a training and/or racing related topic. In addition to building your fitness, you'll also learn a thing or two. And 'fun' is an important aspect of our camps! Once for the 4-day campers and twice for the 7-day campers, we treat everyone to dinner at a local restaurant and usually there are other parties throughout the week. This is a great time to socialize with the other campers as one large group and get to develop lasting friendships with other like-minded people. In fact, it's safe to say that most of our campers will stay in touch via email and even meet at races all over the country throughout the year! Just another bonus of being a Tucson Training 'Camper'!
