I really enjoy training and the discipline it requires to stay fit year-round. HOW DO YOU FIT TRAINING INTO YOUR BUSY SCHEDULE? I try to get in the majority of my training in the early morning hours. I have 2 small children and a full-time job as a scientist at a biotech company so my time is precious. I try to reserve evening hours for my family. WHAT ARE YOUR 3 - YEAR GOALS IN TRIATHLON? I would like to do a sub-12 hour Ironman at Lake Placid in 2008 and also qualify for Ironman 70.3 within the next 3 years. WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU OFFER TO A NEWBIE TRIATHLETE? The sport can be very intimidating to get into. Especially at races, where everyone seems to know exactly what they are doing. I still get nervous after competing for 13 years. Trust yourself and your training and you will be fine. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WORKOUT? I really enjoy swim-run bricks I do twice a week. I swim 2500 yards and then run 45-60 minutes. This workout really increases my fitness.
