Enjoy various video clips from our 6th Annual Tucson Training Camp, March 7-14, 2008! Over 30 athletes from all backgrounds and ability levels from throughout the country attended the program. Friday evening includes registration and orientation. Campers receive a bountiful 'goodie bag' including free DVDs, a hat, performance running shirt and a fresh loaf of Great Harvest Bread!
Day one started with V02max testing and included a 70 mile ride followed by a short run and a swim technique session. A lecture on training rounded out the evening. The day started a little overcast and brisk but warmed up to be sunny and in the 70's.
Day two included a 50-60 mile ride, including scenic yet challenging Gates Pass, offering a leg burning 15% climb in the Saguaro National Forest. (Ride Gates Pass 'virtually' using Coach Troy's DVD - Tucson Training Rides.). A short run was followed by another day in the pool practicing the fundamentals of proper stroke mechanics. After a brief training lecture in the evening, campers organized a cook-out on the grill by the hotel pool and then they were off to bed to rest up for Day 3.
