CHANHASSEN, Minn. (December 2, 2008) -- Life Time Fitness, Inc. (NYSE: LTM) today announced that nationally recognized sports performance coach and trainer Troy Jacobson has joined the Company as Director of Endurance Sports Training.
In this role, Jacobson will develop and launch training programs for triathlon, running, cycling and swimming linked to the Company's athletic events and other key regional event. He will also design an in-club coaching program through comprehensive educational programs that emphasize consistency and quality assurance and will create online coaching and training for Life Time members and staff. In addition, Jacobson will spearhead the creation of the Company's Running, Cycling and Triathlon interest groups.
Well known within the triathlon, cycling and running circles, Jacobson began coaching endurance athletes in 1992 and has since established a reputation as one of the top coaches in the United States for single sport and multisport athletes alike. He is credited with revolutionizing multisport coaching as well as elevating online coaching to an unprecedented level of acceptance. To date, he has personally trained more than 1,500 athletes and reached thousands more worldwide via his training media, seminars and coaching network.
